Barking Riverside Ltd

Barking Riverside Limited (BRL) are the partnership between the Mayor of London and L&Q, together putting Barking Riverside on the map.

Known locally as BRL, we are a joint venture between L&Q and the Mayor of London. We are the company behind the delivery of the new homes and facilities at Barking Riverside. We are responsible for the overall design, planning and placemaking, leading the major infrastructure projects and working with housebuilders who are building homes here.

As master developers of the Barking Riverside project, we are on an exciting journey to deliver one of Europe’s largest mixed-use placemaking projects and unlock the potential of Barking Riverside as a place to be, become and belong, whilst meeting the challenges of a changing world.

Bringing together citizens, placemakers, government, business, and housing providers in partnership, we are providing a platform for residents – new and existing – to create an authentic, universal place that is like no other.

Barking Riverside is a collaborative project with continuous input from all major stakeholders including L&Q, the Mayor of London, Homes England, Barking and Dagenham Council, Transport for London and local resident committees. Plot developers L&Q and Bellway Homes are involved in the construction of residential and commercial builds. We also work with leading experts across many fields to ensure that we can benefit from best practice in all that we do.

Our purpose is to create a culture and environment that encourages opportunity, and we promise to do this collaboratively and with equity. We are here to transform lives and perceptions of place for decades to come.
