The draw for The Built World Cup’s first round proper will take place on 10 April at The Group Stage Draw in Shoreditch, London at 6:30pm.

Hosted by ING’s Tom Hawkins, balls will be picked out of a hat by The Developer’s Kimberly France and The Crowd’s Louise Constantine – the Built World Cup’s sponsor.

The 20 teams will be drawn into four groups of five teams. The teams will compete to be the first Built World Cup champions at the tournament on Friday 25 April.

The five-a-side football tournament features squads from property, architecture, construction and consultancy, with teams from Max Fordham, Atrium, Maccreanor Lavington, Scape, FaulknerBrowns, PRP, Landsec, StuRents, Populous, Buro Four, GIA, Cundall, Quintain, Native Land, Eckersley O’Callaghan, LocatED - Kajima, Eric Parry Architects, Bishopsgate Goodsyard, Civic Engineers and tournament "host" ING.

Mixed squads of 7+ people will be competing to get their hands on a coveted golden pineapple trophy while raising money for charity RE:Ukraine. Donations will go towards the construction of a Community Hub in Vorzel, RE:Ukraine’s charitable initiative to support communities devastated by the war in Ukraine. Funds will be used for completing construction and engineering documentations, preparing for the project’s implementation.

“Everyone is invited to the Group Stage Draw. Balls, beers and the feared group of death! It will be a great opportunity for teams to come together for the first time and celebrate what we are collectively hoping to achieve as footballers and fundraisers,” says Tom Hawkins, associate director at ING Media.

Louise Constantine, co-founder and director of The Crowd, highlights that “The excitement is really starting to build as we get closer to the big day. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone involved and pulling the teams out of the hat. I’m sure we will have some spicy fixtures among the great and the good of the built world. Bring on the 25th April!”
