The South Shields Marine School, part of Tyne Coast College, is seeking market feedback on ideas for sustainable residential accommodation.

As the longest running marine training college, the need for high-quality accommodation for Marine learners has been identified. Ideal solutions include purpose-built student accommodation, high-quality conversions, or modular systems capable of delivering safe, durable, and fully compliant living spaces. Ensuite provision would also be ideal but consideration will be given to shared bathroom facilities.

The ambition is to support ongoing student growth, welfare, and operational resilience has been established.

There are currently 204 rooms on site at the college but an additional 70-80 rooms for adults and 18-20 rooms for under 18s are needed.

Solutions for the additional accommodation should be within walking distance of the campus which provides world-class facilities for over 3,000 students annually.

Suppliers interested in this opportunity should express their interest by emailing procurement@tynecoast.ac.uk.
